Shoshone March 13th 2011 Shoshone March 13th 2011
Freezemark: 98562851

Capture Info: Born in holding facility in Palomino Valley (NV53F) in Washoe, Nevada

Adoption Info: Shoshone was adopted at 2 months old along with her mother. She was originally adopted in 1998, but title was not applied for until 2001.

Rescue Info: Shoshone was removed from her previous owners by the SPCA and has been located at Proud Dreams Farm Mustang and Burro Rescue since. She has totally recovered and shows no sign of her previous neglect.

Height: 15.2 Hands

Color: Sorrel with flaxen mane and tail, white mini socks on hind legs, white blaze on face.

Training: Halter broke, leads, lunges both directions. Currently being worked under the Dennis Reis techniques and is responding quickly. Has been cross-tied once. Can turn on the forehand and has learned to disengage the hind end. Still touchy about her feet, we are working on this. Once she understands what is asked, she performs well.

Temperament: Gentle. This curious girl wants to please and only needs someone who has the time to spend with her to bring her along quickly. Shoshone is low man on the totem pole in her field and has many nip marks from the other, more aggressive horses.

Vet Info: Not up to date on shots, coggins or feet.

Breeding: I suspect some Spanish mustang in this big girl. She prefers to trot and has high front end action. However, she has large feet and is round barreled like a draft.

Her mane and forelock were recently trimmed due to the excessive heat and how thick they are, but have been below her muzzle and below her neck. We refer to her as our “Hippie” horse. Title transfer from AMBA is available.
